The
Incredible Holton is more than just Holton & Associates and Incredible
Connection each giving a gift to a kid to fulfil a birthday wish; The
Incredible Holton is about providing someone with the necessary hardware they
need to give themselves a future.
In June 2012
Radio 702 celebrated 32 years on air by giving gifts to other people. As is the
case with such initiatives, humanity and kindness at their very best are
revealed; many nominations are sent in and it’s up to the good people at Radio
702 to do what they can, sourcing donations and assistance where possible.
One such
e-mail they received was from Daleen Hall, asking for a laptop for her domestic
worker’s son, Forere Sekhosana (click on the below image to read the letter):
Having
received donations from Incredible Connection in the past, the 702 Birthday
Wish team, contacted them and were gifted a laptop for Forere.
How does
Holton fit in? Grayford Holton, the man behind Holton and Associates, explains
it perfectly, “A few weeks ago I heard the tail-end of a Radio702 Birthday
Wish story in which Incredible Connection had donated a top-of-the-range laptop
to a Graphics Arts student, Forere Sekhosana. I immediately made contact with
David O’Sullivan and offered the Serif Design Suite and free training to
go with it, to complete the package”.
Forere,
along with his brand-new laptop, visited the Holton offices to have his new
software installed and for training on how to use it. Grayford has noted that
it took the talented student only a few short hours to learn his way around the
Serif software. Grayford has since chatted with Forere and is thrilled to hear
how taken he is with just how easy the software is to use and how he is looking
forward to using the web design component to design websites in his free time
and earn himself some pocket money.
Forere has
recently returned to varsity after the July holidays and so far has had only
good things to say about his new laptop and software.
